Self Care Information

NHS 111 Service

NHS Out of Hours Service provides medical care or advice when the surgery is closed. Fully trained advisers will assess your symptoms and direct you to the most appropriate local service. This can include an out-of-hours doctor, walk-in centre, urgent care centre, emergency dentist or late opening chemist. For life threatening emergencies, continue to call 999.

Home Visits

homevisitsHome visits may be requested only for patients who are housebound or too ill to come to the surgery. They may not be requested for the sake of convenience or lack of transport.

If you feel that a home visit is necessary on the same day, please try to ring the surgery before 10.00am, so that the doctors can plan their visits

Most visits are done between 11.30am and 1.00pm. Please explain the exact nature of the problem to the receptionist to enable the doctor to see the most urgent cases first.

We have the appropriate facilities to help you here and will be able to offer you a better service if you attend at the practice for all your needs. Also, please remember that the doctor will be able to see approximately five other patients at the surgery in the time it takes to do one home visit.
